Castle of Lamia

Lamia is the capital of the regional unit of Phthiotis and of the Central Greece region.

The Castle of Lamia (or Akrolamia Frankish castle) is built on a rocky hill above the city (5th century BC).

It is very well preserved and open for visitors offering a panoramic view of Sperhios Valley.

There's also a very interesting archaeological museum inside the fort.

It is housed in a renovated building of the old barracks, built in the years of king of Greece Otto.
