Plastira lake

Lake Plastiras is located close to Karditsa city (the capital of Karditsa regional unit) in central Greece and lies at an altitude of 1.000m. Lake Plastiras  also called Tavropos Reservoir is an artificial lake fed by Tavropos river.

If you try canoeing in the peaceful lake of Plastira you will have the chance to admire the unique natural scenery and see many different species of rare birds. Picturesque villages (Fylakti, Neohori, Moshato) and byzantine monasteries (Neohori, Pezoula, Neraida) are located all around the lake. Plastira lake is a popular destination with many traditional hotels constructed with artistry.
